My favorite thing about teaching: I love connecting with students and assisting them along their path to becoming a chef. It brings me so much joy to watch students improve not only their cooking skills but also gain confidence and passion as they head out into the industry.

There is really no limits to the food I enjoy but if I had to choose, I would say a traditional holiday meal from my childhood. Cabbage rolls, perogies … and all the fixings with the people I love.
One of my favorite things to cook is the simplicity of a well roasted chicken.
My favorite aspect of teaching is helping a student design a dish in theory and then seeing them take it from thought into reality with technique and skillful execution.

Mandy Wingert

I’m a graduate of the Culinary Institute of Canada in Charlottetown, PEI with Diplomas in both Culinary and Pastry Arts and have Red Seal Certifications in both disciplines.
I also have the Adult Education Teaching Certification from Dalhousie University and have taught cooking classes in PEI and Nova Scotia since 2006.
While attending the Culinary Institute of Canada I was Team Captain of Culinary Youth Team Canada and competed in international cooking competitions in Wales, Scotland, and Michigan, culminating in the Culinary Olympics in Germany.
I have worked in up-scale establishments in Canada, United States, United Kingdom, and the world expo in Shanghai, China
